Art MVP Scholarship 2017North Branch Arts Announces Winner of Inaugural Art Class Scholarship for Middle School Students Interested in Developing Their Skills
(Chicago, IL ) March 15, 2017 – North Branch Arts, located in downtown Edgebrook, awarded the 2017 Art MVP Scholarship to Liam Levandowsky, a student at Edgebrook School. The Art MVP Scholarship is awarded to a middle school student with a passion for the arts and a desire to improve their artistic abilities. Liam will receive up to 30 free Studio Art classes at North Branch Arts. Studio Art is individualized art instruction in a classroom setting and meets once a week. Students work at their own pace and drive their own progress under the guidance of an instructor. Due to the exceptional quality of the entries received, North Branch also awarded two additional 10 class scholarships to Madeline Jones a student at Queen of All Saints and Adela Lisca from Edgebrook School. “Thank you to all the students that entered this year,” said Margaret Nagle, Chairman of the Board, North Branch Arts. “We had entries from four different schools in the area and we wish we had more scholarships to award since every one of them is deserving of a chance to develop their artistic abilities.” About the Art MVP - Applications are no longer being accepted for 2017. The Art MVP Scholarship will be awarded to a middle school student with a passion for the arts and a desire to improve their artistic abilities. No prior art class experience is needed and students at all artistic levels are welcome to apply. The recipient will receive up to 30 free Studio Art classes at North Branch Arts. Studio art is individualized art instruction in a classroom setting and meets once a week. Students work at their own pace and drive their own progress under the guidance of an instructor. The MVP Art Scholarship was developed in recognition of Melissa Van Pelt, Executive Director of North Branch Arts, for her commitment and contributions to the development and support of the art center over the last five years. Interested students are encouraged to complete and submit a short application by February 21, 2017. Entries will be evaluated based on a demonstrated interest in the arts and originality.
